Overview

Editorial Cover: The editorial cover series draws inspiration from James Bridle's article "Here Come the Lionfish." The article examines lionfish through the lenses of climate change, migration, colonial infrastructure, environmental responsibility, and the human tendency to label certain species as invasive. For this project, I developed cover concepts that visually distill these complex themes into single images. The final direction emphasizes the inherent beauty and danger of the lionfish, while also subtly hinting at broader connections between humanity, displacement, and the environment. The aim was to create an evocative introduction that entices readers into the article without revealing too much. Book Cover: This literary poster project, based on Jane Eyre, explores the novel's themes of gothic romance, independence, and social class. My design process began with researching summaries, quotes, and major motifs to identify the most visually impactful ideas. The final composition employs symbolic imagery to convey Jane's emotional and social world: a gate signifies restriction and oppression, birds embody freedom and independence, and lace evokes a sense of gothic romance. Although composed of separate collage elements, these were visually unified to reflect the intensity and cohesion of Jane's story and her experiences at Thornfield Hall.
