Overview
Dr. Octopus is a children's toy concept designed to help young children better understand and communicate illness symptoms. For this project, we were prompted to create a toy that could teach children about a social concept or issue, and I focused on health communication between children and caregivers. Modeled in Womp3D, the toy octopus uses each tentacle as an interactive guide, with lights corresponding to different categories of illness and symptom cards, including viral, bacterial, and general health concerns. The packaging, an octagon inspired by the corresponding 8 tentacles of an octopus, features minimal instructions, playful visuals, and clear descriptors to make the product feel approachable, educational, and comforting.
